Pirates of the Caribbean

Based on a movie quote from one of the most iconic Pirates of the Caribbean moments, the assignment delved into how to evoke emotion through animation and type. This was my first venture into After Effects and the process included storyboarding, developing a visual direction, and bringing the dialogue to life through kinetic typography. The visual concept took inspiration from Jack Sparrow’s tattoo, along with his escapes at sea. These inked motifs, his anxious-spirit and the ocean waves informed the typography’s texture, rhythm, and movement for this project.
